Help Miss Kim; Unhoused, Widowed, Battling Cancer

Meet Miss Kim!

She is an unhoused widow battling kidney cancer. We met outside my neighborhood grocery store when I offered to get her a drink or something to eat. We started talking and she told me a little about herself. Over the next weeks I continued to check on her and do what little I could, getting her into the AC in my car when it was very hot, giving her basic first aid, and making sure she stayed hydrated.

When a nearby business owner started harassing her for being near his business we knew we had to get her a better situation. We got her into a hotel for a few days. She was able to have her chemo treatment and rest but there are limits to how much I could do on my own.

With her permission we decided to crowd fund. We’ve managed to get her in an extended stay hotel using donations that have covered her stay, food, and clothes all the way through July and August! Now we are trying to save enough funds to get her her own place, a permanent place, where she can be safe and comfortable, where she can rest and focus on getting healthy.
