Provide Grey Water for Asheville Residents
Donation protected

Dear Friends, Family, Community, and Americans,
As you know, western North Carolina has been devastated by Hurricane Helene. Many residents have regained power, but the municipal water system was so damaged and contaminated that most residents do not have any access to running water, and it will likely be weeks until that can be restored. One of the biggest issues is the ability to flush toilets, creating a massive sanitation nightmare for the community.
Dan Bright, a medic, ER nurse, and nurse educator from Tennessee has sprung into action to help the citizens of WNC. He is the coordinator on the ground for Plenty International, a grassroots 501c3 disaster assistance organization. They have partnered with Beloved Asheville, another non-profit in the area, to deliver accessible grey water to all the underserved communities in Asheville reeling from the devastation, and Highland Brewing is hosting the massive operation. Grey water is non-potable water that can be used for septic needs, irrigation, and other non-drinking purposes. They are sourcing it from various bodies of fresh water in the local area that are above the flood zone, utilizing gravity feed systems and large gasoline powered water pumps. The water is moved into large 250-275 gallon water bladders, and delivered all over the area. They have amassed the largest grassroots effort Mr. Bright has ever seen in action, but he also says that the need is so great they need much larger-scale resources to better address this public health crisis, such as water bladders to deploy in centralized locations, tanker trucks to distribute the water, buckets for residents, and man power. At this juncture he believes this effort will be on-going for at least a month based on the need and the nearly 94,000 residents.
Please consider donating to this incredible grassroots effort in any amount that you can. This is what people helping people looks like. This effort knows no politics, no sides, and no discrimination. It is the best of humanity. Let's make it even better for those doing the work, and then you can say you had a hand in helping. PLEASE SHARE EVERYWHERE
