Help Maha (23) and Baby Mohammed Survive

Donation protected
UPDATE (5/16)

Maha and Mohammed were forced to evacuate, Maha had to leave everything behind and walk while carrying Mohammed to the border. They sought shelter in a tent with a bunch of other evacuees, their future is extremely uncertain and they're in extremely volatile territory.

Maha was not able to bring the solar panel and medical equipment Mohammed needs to treat his serious lung condition. We will need to fundraise to make up for everything they had to leave behind. We'll update with more exact numbers soon but for now, please help us get ahead of this.

UPDATE (3/31)
Maha and Mohammed are living in a tent with one of Maha's friends. Mohammed has developed a skin condition based on the poor quality of the water in Gaza and needs additional medicine. Here he is on Eid. Mohammed still needs treatment for his lung condition until he's strong enough to undergo surgery, please help Maha get the medicine he needs so he can get strong.

UPDATE (3/22)

Gaza is under siege again and Mohammed’s condition has worsened. Diapers and food are prohibitively expensive and Maha needs to procure medication for Mohammed. All donations are going to food, diapers, and medicine.

UPDATE (2/17)

Maha and Mohammed have been able to secure what she needs to give him at home treatment until he's strong enough for surgery! Maha's lease on her current room runs out on February 22nd, and she needs help covering the transportation fare to return to the north of Gaza.

UPDATE (1/24)

With the money donated so far, Maha was able to purchase a solar panel and battery to generate power for her to give Mohammed treatment for his lung condition at home. This means Maha can wait until he's a little stronger to have surgery. Thank you so much for your support!!!

Maha also needed to borrow money from a friend in order to secure a vaporizer, which is the part that's required for Mohammed's treatment.
We now need to focus on raising enough to pay back Maha's friend for the cost of the vaporizer, which we initially thought we could get for free from the hospital.

UPDATE (12/17):

Maha was able to rent a room and purchase blankets, jackets, diapers, and pajamas for Mohammed. However, she realized what seemed like a cold or flu was actually a serious illness when Mohammed wouldn't stop wheezing. Maha saw a doctor, and they confirmed that Mohammed has a serious lung illness and will require surgery to remove part of his right lung.

Surgery is incredibly dangerous, but Maha can delay Mohammed's surgery if she obtains a solar panel and a vaporizer to administer treatment herself. He needs the vaporizer every 6 hours, which isn't feasible if Maha needs to go to the hospital for treatment. With the vaporizer, Maha will be able to wait until Mohammed is a little older before she risks surgery.

We need $5400 to cover a solar panel, batteries, an infiltrator device, and a vaporizer.

My name is Meghan and I am fundraising so Maha and her young son can escape homelessness and have enough money for necessities like food, clothes, gas, diapers, and milk. This is her story, in her own words.

Hello friends,

I will tell you my story I am Maha, I am 23 years old. I lived a very beautiful love story. Since I was 14 years old, I loved my neighbor’s son. His name was Muhammad. After our love story lasted eight years, we decided to get married. We faced many problems. My parents refused to let me marry the one I love, but we challenged the whole world to be with each other. On September 17, 2023, 1 married Muhammad in a royal wedding. This was the most beautiful day in my life.

On October 7, our lives were turned upside down. We were living in the most prestigious neighborhood in Gaza, the Rimal neighborhood. The Israeli occupation ordered us to forcibly move to the south. My husband and I were displaced, leaving behind my family and friends who insisted on staying in North Gharra. We lived with a friend of my husband in the city of Deir al-Balah for a long time, and on January 7, 2024, I underwent a pregnancy test and learned that I was pregnant with my first child from my beloved husband. We were very happy that we would reap the first fruit of our love.

But our joy was not complete.

On August 9, 2024, the house in which we were displaced was bombed, and my beloved husband was martyred. I was injured in my stomach and I gave birth prematurely on that day. I was then in the seventh month of my pregnancy.

My child was born as an orphan and had never seen his father. He was born in the seventh month of pregnancy, weighing one and a half kilograms, and was not fully developed at the time. I am sorry to tell you that I am now homeless, living with my orphan child in a bathroom full of germs. We do not have the minimum necessities for life. We have no food, no clothes, no gas, no diapers and no milk for my child.

Please help me and my child to live a decent life. So we can have a small tent to live in and I can buy diapers and milk for my baby. Be with me and help my orphan child.
