Hello there! For those who don't know me, my name is Emilie Eschliman and I am a 19-year-old living with Gastroparesis, Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome.
I recently had to go through life-saving measures at UNMC due to complications with my gastroparesis, and my amazing medical team advised me to get a service dog to aid in my day-to-day life. Because of my health declining so quickly, I lost so much of my independence and it has been so discouraging. However, I am very hopeful I can regain that independence back and hopefully go to college with the help of a mobility dog.
I am so blessed to be working with Domesti-Pups, a local nonprofit here in Lincoln that will be providing me with a dog to meet my needs. In total, I have to raise $21,000 to cover the costs and labor it takes to train a service dog. Thank you so, so much to anyone who is willing to donate; you have no idea how much it means to me. Again, thank you so much and happy holidays!!
