Hi everyone, my name is Danni. My husband and I are beyond grateful to finally be expecting our little miracle after a long and emotional journey to grow our family. This pregnancy has been a blessing after all the hoping, wishing, and enduring heartbreak along the way.

Unfortunately, my pregnancy has taken a turn. I’ve been diagnosed with severe Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG). HG is a high-risk pregnancy condition that causes relentless nausea, vomiting, dehydration, and weight loss. Without proper treatment, severe HG such as mine can lead to organ damage, as well as the risk of a medically necessary termination. Unlike typical morning sickness, HG is debilitating and can be life-threatening for both mother and baby.

Since becoming pregnant, I’ve spent much of my time in and out of hospitals. I’ve had 13 emergency room visits and two hospital admissions lasting days for dehydration, malnutrition, and HG related complications. I’ve now lost 35 pounds in the matter of weeks, and my body is struggling to get the nutrients it needs to keep both me and my baby safe.

Per my team of doctors, I now require in-home medical care several days a week for IV fluids and medications to manage my symptoms and prevent further complications. Unfortunately, my insurance only covers a portion of these critical in-home IV services, and treatments leaving us responsible for most of the costs. Without this care, I’m at severe risk of further starvation, malnutrition, and medical emergencies.

This condition has completely upended my life. I’m unable to work consistently and even simple daily tasks like eating, standing, or showering can feel impossible. Most days are spent fighting to keep even small sips of liquids down. The physical and emotional toll has been overwhelming, and the mounting medical bills related to my confhave become impossible to manage.
