I am a single mom of 3 and a breast cancer survivor. I have already undergone chemotherapy, divorce, reconstruction, and full mouth dental extraction as a result of my first round of treatment. Unfortunately I lost insurance for 8 months due to paperwork issues and in that time things got worse. I have already filed bankruptcy and am just getting back on my feet. Now I am starting new treatments and will need a few months of help.This time it’s metastatic and only treatable. In the timeframe I can’t work full time, I will face losing my car among other things if I’m unable to pay my bills. I live in rural alabama and have a very small social safety net and the only family I have to help is my elderly disabled mother. Losing my car here will cause multiple undue hardships as there is no public transportation to rely on. Without a car I will be unable to work. This will eventually result in homelessness. There are very few social service programs to help here and the few we do have are already overwhelmed. If you think you can’t help, you can!
