Donate to Preston Powell-Cancer Fight

Hi, my name is Stephanie. I am trying to raise money for my 59-year-old brother, Preston Powell, due to his medical condition which is lung cancer. Let me start by telling you a little about my brother Preston. Preston is a father of 13 children by only one woman, his wife of 30 years. Preston has 3 children under 13 who live at home with him and his wife.

Preston is also a Detroit Police Officer (35 years) and takes pride in serving his community. He has saved many lives through his heroic acts. Preston is a calm, gentle-spirited man who believes in the power of prayer and faith in God Almighty.

In July of 2021, unfortunately, Preston was diagnosed with advanced esophageal cancer and had his esophagus removed and his stomach pulled up into his chest to form a new esophagus. Preston bravely fought off esophageal cancer, but he is now dealing with the complications from chemotherapy and radiation, especially his feet stomach, and teeth. Preston's teeth are rotten and have fallen out and as a result, his ability to chew his food is limited, leading to a lack of proper nutrition.

In March of 2024, Preston was struck with another health emergency and had to have a quadruple bypass to save his life. Preston is currently battling lung cancer. However, despite all that he has been through medically, he has chosen to stay positive and continue to fight for his life and family, especially his young children.

All his medical situations have left him financially drained because he could not work and was forced to use up all his savings and annuity money. Preston's adult children are helping all they can, but they have their own families and household needs to attend to.

Preston's expenses include utilities, medications, vitamins, food, medical bills, car note and car insurance, clothes and other necessities.
