Help get Preston Krull back up on his feet!
On Friday, October 18th, our friend and brother: Preston Krull was taken to the ICU at St. Charles in Bend. He had called an ambulance for himself and was found unconscious when they arrived.
He was been in the ICU for 10 days now. He was initially on a ventilator but has since recieved a trach. On the 25th Preston regained consciousness after the hospital eased off his sedation. He has been responsive although the trach prevents him from being able to talk. He is currently undergoing a series of procedures called therapeutic plasma exchange in order to battle his auto immune condition. TPE removes the old plasma, that carries auto-immune agents from the blood, replacing it with fresh plasma that carries medication.
Preston is diagnosed with an auto immune disease called pulmonary fibrosis; a chronic lung disease that occurs when lung tissue around the air sacs becomes damaged and scarred, making it harder to breathe. The thickened tissue permanently reduces the lungs' ability to carry oxygen.
He had recently been visiting his mom, who also suffered from pulmonary fibrosis, while she was in hospice care. It is believed that he got sick with pnuemonia while traveling back and forth to the coast to visit her. He is still currently fighting the pnuemonia.
I would like to raise money in order to help accomodate any of his needs as he recovers. Please donate to our friend and let's see him through this difficult time in his life. If you know Preston you know he is both a lover and a fighter.
I have known Preston for close to 20 years now and he's one of my best friends. He cares so much about his friends, coworkers and community.
Thank you taking the time to read this and we appreciate your support.
-Matthew Boyle.
