Hi, I’m Dianne Furphy, founder of Kreate What U Want (KWUW), a creative studio and coaching practice in North Wales, PA. KWUW is more than a business — it’s a safe space where kids, teens, and parents discover coping skills, confidence, and connection through art and mindfulness.

Over the years, KWUW has supported hundreds of kids, teens, and families. I’ve witnessed youth finding their voices through art, teens learning coping skills to manage anxiety, and parents discovering new ways to connect with their children. Families often tell me KWUW is the place where they finally feel safe, seen, and supported.

My Story

As a teen, I longed for guidance and a safe space to express and process my big feelings after watching my mom take her last breath. I had very little support, and what I needed most was to be seen, heard, validated, and cared for. In those moments, art became my refuge. It gave me a way to move through the grief and trauma, to express what words couldn’t, and to begin healing. That experience is what inspired me to create Kreate What U Want, a place where kids and teens could have what I never did: a safe, creative space to work through their emotions and feel supported.

Almost four years ago, during one of the darkest seasons of my life, I faced a near-death health crisis. As I slowly mended my body, I knew I didn’t want to waste another moment. I wanted to finally live out my dream of opening a studio: to build the safe, creative space I had needed as a youth. Even on the hardest days, in pain and discomfort, I poured myself into making it real. I cleaned and painted every wall, advertised, built a client base, and watched my vision come alive piece by piece.

Kreate What U Want became more than a business, it gave me something to live for, alongside my son and his dad. It was, and still is, a dream come true: a space built from resilience, heart, and the belief that creativity and mindfulness can heal.

Community at KWUW

KWUW is more than just 1:1 sessions — it’s also a place of community. Through group workshops, classes, and creative gatherings, kids and teens have the chance to make friends, build connections, and feel like they belong. We also offer STEAM + fun and unique art classes for the homeschooling community, giving students opportunities to learn, collaborate, and explore creativity through hands-on projects. Parents find support and understanding here, too. Whether it’s sitting down for a coaching session, joining a workshop, or diving into a STEAM project, families know KWUW is a place where they are safe, supported, and never alone.

My Credentials

I’ve dedicated my life to this work. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling & Psychology with a concentration in Art Therapy, a Bachelor’s in Psychology, and an Associate’s in Early Childhood Education. I’ve also pursued ongoing training in mindfulness and life coaching. This blend of education, professional experience, and lived experience is what shaped KWUW into a space that heals, inspires, and empowers.

Why Your Support Matters

Right now, rising costs of rent, supplies, and operations make it difficult to keep our doors open. This campaign isn’t just about saving a business, it’s about preserving a safe, creative, and mindful community space that youth and families truly need.

Our starting goal is $10,000. This will help cover essential expenses (rent, supplies, utilities) and buy us the time we need to stabilize and keep serving families. Our stretch goal is $18,000 to secure KWUW for the next 6 months.

✨ Transparency Note: Whether or not we reach the full goal, every dollar raised will go directly toward keeping KWUW running as long as possible: covering art supplies, youth sessions, and rent. If at some point the studio space cannot be maintained, your donations will still continue KWUW’s mission through other formats, such as virtual classes and community pop-ups.
