Hello, my name is James Porter, but most people know me simply as Porter. I have created this GoFundMe page to ask for help paying my rent and bills while I recover from the motorcycle accident I had on July 23 of this year, which has left me unable to work due to the shoulder injury sustained from the accident. I don't have any savings as I had only been back to work for four months after not working for over two years while I was dealing with health issues. In addition, I have no disability insurance, nor any available from the state as it was exhausted during 2023/2024 while dealing with my other health issues.

I was extremely lucky to have walked away with quite a bit of road rash, and my Harley totaled, but ultimately, my right shoulder is requiring rotator cuff repair surgery, which will leave me unable to work for the next eight months.

I am asking for help in reaching a monthly goal of $4500 to pay my rent and bills, including food and gas for my truck to get to doctor appointments and post-surgery physical therapy.

I'm sure many may be asking why I am just creating this fundraiser knowing rent is due in one day, and I understand why. The reason I have created my fundraiser this late is that I was trying to find a pre-settlement loan that would cover everything while healing, so I didn't have to ask for help, but was only offered $2000 which I had to accept just to pay rent for August. I am continuing to try and find alternative financing, but so far I haven't been successful, hence the creation of my fundraiser.
