On May 10th, my mom, Patti McGilvray was admitted to the ICU after suffering a blood clot in her leg that her doctors believe passed through her heart. She underwent not one, but two emergency surgeries that saved her life from a rapidly spreading infection. What began as a below-the-knee procedure turned into a full above-the-knee amputation of her leg, leaving her facing the most difficult chapter of her life.

At just 53 years old, my mom, Patti is now navigating an overwhelming recovery—physically, emotionally, and financially. She has made tremendous progress after 52 days in the hospital. We are so excited and proud to share she took her first steps yesterday, and came home today, July 2nd, on her 30th wedding anniversary.
