Palouse Democratic Socialists of America's Bodily Autonomy Working Group is pleased to present a screening of the 1954 socialist feminist film, "Salt of the Earth". Based on a real 1951 strike against the Empire Zinc Company, the movie centers on the women who take over their husbands' places on the picket line after the police and the state threaten arrest against the miners. It is an incredibly powerful display of the crucial role that women play in the labor struggle. The screening will be donation-funded to rent the Kenworthy theater, so thank you for your support! All donations that exceed the amount needed for the screening will go to the Palouse DSA.
