Donate to Oscar's Life-Saving Kidney Transplant

Hey everyone, I’m reaching out because my friend’s husband, Oscar, is in urgent need of a kidney transplant, and his family is facing an overwhelming financial burden. He has IgA nephropathy, also known as Berger’s disease, which is causing his kidney function (EGFR) to drop dangerously low—last I knew it was at just 13%. His doctors have already started him on dialysis, but he’ll have to go on disability, meaning he’ll only be earning a fraction of his income.

His son, also named Oscar, has been one of the main sources of income in their household, as his mother, my friend, has been unable to work due to disability herself and is struggling to make sales with her crochet business. Right now, they’re struggling to cover rent, bills, and the mounting medical costs. They got new landlords where their rent has gone up, and their daughters, though trying, have been struggling to find something stable enough to help. They were told the kidney transplant will cost around $45,000 and the doctor suggested a GoFundMe. They urgently need help to get through the next few months between this and just getting by after with Oscar not being able to work for however long it may be.
