My name is Omar Al-Maghribi, from the Gaza Strip.
I'm in my fourth year of nursing, and I have only one semester left to fulfill my dream of graduating and becoming a nurse. But the road has never been easy.
I am the sole breadwinner for my family, burdened by war and disease. I lost my older sister years ago to cystic fibrosis, and now my two younger sisters suffer from the same rare disease and require daily, ongoing treatment that's not readily available in besieged Gaza.
My father is also ill, suffering from chronic acid reflux, which sometimes prevents him from working or even resting. All of this has left me with the responsibility of an entire family, while I'm still a student.
Despite all the circumstances—the bombing, the blockade, the poverty, the illness, and the endless grief—I've never given up on my dream: to become a nurse, to heal pain and provide hope, just as I dreamed when I accompanied my late sister to the hospital.
All I need now is a chance to complete my final semester. Your support, whether through a donation or by sharing my story, could mean the difference between my success or my dreams being shattered.
Help me continue on this path... for my sisters, for my family, and for every patient waiting for a caring hand.
