Why do this?
American healthcare sucks. We all know this, but it’s my turn to have an ugly brush with it. I have been growing a tumor in my uterus for a few years now. many months later I now know it’s benign- yay! Even though she is ‘benign’, it’s time for her to get cut out, which means cutting me open and taking the tumor and my uterus out, too. For those who don’t immediately recognize this- I’m getting a hysterectomy. I would rather keep my stomach intact and keep the option to grow a kid, but the risks of other procedures outweigh the benefits for me. The pain I constantly have in my lower stomach and pelvis is only increasing, along with the insane volume of blood that falls out of me without warning… waaayy too regularly now. Soooo… hysterectomy it is. My surgery is set for later this year and now I’m panicking about how to pay for it. (Thanks, America!)
Even if it’s only $5 donated, that’s $5 I don’t have to scrounge for to pay the insane medical bills I currently have and will continue to have for the next forseable future. No amount is too small. Thank you. So much.
I'm hoping insurance will cover most of this $44k surgery, but they've been spotty on covering my tests so far and I am not confident it will be enough. Plus, I am losing 2+ weeks of work to recover. I appreciate any help you can offer. Thank you. -Nikki
