Help Support Nijah Howard’s Fight Against Brain Cancer
Hello, my name is Latasha Murray, and I am organizing this GoFundMe on behalf of my cousin Cheisa Howard and her father Ronald Taylor. Cheisa’s son, Nijah Howard, was recently hospitalized in the Johns Hopkins Hospital PICU after being diagnosed with Stage 4 Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM), an aggressive brain tumor.
Nijah’s symptoms began 11/2024, when he started experiencing headaches and vomiting. Initially, his primary care physician suspected a sinus infection and prescribed antibiotics, but his symptoms did not improve. A follow-up at Patient First also showed no answers. Finally, Cheisa and her family, determined to get clarity, took Nijah to Franklin Square Hospital ER and insisted on further testing. That decision saved his life — scans revealed a 5.5 cm tumor in his frontal lobe.
Nijah was immediately transferred to Johns Hopkins, where he has since undergone two brain surgeries, removing about 70% of the tumor. He also had a shunt placed to relieve fluid buildup.
We are still fighting a good fight, and this journey is far from over. Nijah continues to face multiple hospital stays, ongoing treatments, and constant medical monitoring. These extended hospitalizations mean Cheisa has not left his side, and the emotional, physical, and financial toll has been overwhelming.
Your donations will help cover medical expenses, travel to and from the hospital, meals, and household costs while allowing Cheisa to remain with her son where she is needed most.
Nijah is a bright and determined Senior at Archbishop Curley High School, an A-B student, athlete, and a hard-working employee at Texas Roadhouse. He is loved by so many, and we are committed to walking with him every step of the way as he bravely battles this disease.
No donation is too small — every contribution makes a difference and helps our family keep faith and strength during this fight.
We are deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and support from family and friends who have already reached out. Thank you for standing with Nijah and our family during this difficult time.
