Greetings everyone. My name is Latasha Murray and I am organizing this GoFundMe on behalf of my cousin Cheisa Howard and his dad Ronald, whose son, Nijah Howard was hospitalized in Johns Hopkins Hospital PICU with a brain tumor. Results have come back with STAGE 4 Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), an aggressive brain tumor. His symptoms began 6 weeks ago when he complained of a headache and vomiting. He was seen by his primary care physician and was prescribed an antibiotic for a suspected sinus infection. His symptoms did not improve and he was taken to Patient First. They did a chest X-ray and switched his antibiotic, although his chest X-ray was normal. Days later, there was still no improvement in his symptoms. Frustrated, worried, and concerned, they decided to take him to Franklin Square Hospital emergency room and demanded further testing. Well, we’re so happy she insisted because his results revealed a 5cm brain mass in his frontal lobe. He was immediately transferred to Johns Hopkins Hospital for treatment. As a result, Nijah has underwent two brain procedures removing 70% of the mass, with some fluid removal and shunt has been placed.
We are asking for financial donations as Cheisa’s monthly monetary responsibility continues. She’ll be exhausting all of her work leave and is in the process of applying for FMLA with her employer. She has not left her son’s bedside since his admission.
Nijah is an 11th grader at Archbishop Curley High School, an A-B student, and an athlete. He is currently employed at Texas Roadhouse.
No donation is too small. We’re grateful for anything you can contribute during this time. Thank you, family & friends, who have contributed thus far....
