My name is Nicole, and I'm asking for your help to begin a career in the medical field as an X-ray Technician that will allow me to support myself and my future family. Growing up with ADHD, school was a constant struggle for me, so I never thought I'd go to college. I was raised by my single mom who worked hard to make ends meet and provide for us, but we didn't have anything left over to save for higher education.

In 2020, amidst the pandemic, I graduated high school. It was my proudest moment, not just for me, but for my mom and everyone who believed in me. After working full time for the last 4 years, I realized that I need a career. Thanks to my current job assisting adults with disabilities, I know that I want to be in the medical field. Now, I'm taking the next step in my journey by attending community college to complete my general education. This is the first step towards my goal of becoming an X-ray technician—a career that will allow me to make a meaningful impact and provide a stable future for myself and my future family.

Living in Sacramento, CA, my income barely covers rent and bills, leaving little room for the additional costs of education, books, and supplies. Despite these financial hurdles, I'm determined to succeed. I plan to enroll in a technical college in 2025 to complete my specialized training and achieve my dreams.
