Hi everyone,
My name is Nicole, and I’m reaching out for help during one of the hardest chapters of my life. I’ll soon be undergoing a hip replacement and reconstruction, a major surgery that will require a long recovery period and keep me out of work for several months.
As many of you know, I’m a nurse and a mom of two sweet little girls. I’ve always found purpose in caring for others, but now I’m learning what it means to accept care and support myself. It’s humbling and honestly a little scary to ask, but this surgery is necessary for me to walk, work, and be fully present for my kids again.
Between uncovered medical bills (around $10,000) and basic living expenses (around $25,000) while I recover, we’ve set our goal at $35,000. This amount will help cover my medical costs, mortgage, utilities, groceries, and essentials for my daughters and me during the six months I’ll be out of work. Because I don’t have employer-provided disability or other financial support, I’m relying on the generosity of friends and community to help us get through this period.
Every single donation, share, and kind message means the world to me. Your support will give me the time and space to heal fully so I can return to being a nurse, a daughter, a sister, a friend, and a mom who can finally chase her girls around without pain.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read this and for supporting us in any way you can.
With gratitude,
Nicole
