Ngana Barangarai gives a voice to incarcerated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through creative expression. The programme involves conducting creative expression workshops with incarcerated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men, and then publishing their works in a series of publications. Every participant is published in the anthology and receives a copy. The programme began in 2010 and is now in its sixteenth year. The programme is staffed by Aboriginal tutors with qualifications in creative writing under the leadership of esteemed Wadi Wadi Elder Aunty Barbara Nicholson.
