As many of you may know, my Aunt Nelly (who’s more of a sister to me) has been going through some extremely difficult times. First, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and had a mastectomy in August. Following that, she was advised to get a hysterectomy, which would conclude treatment after chemo. The surgery was supposed to be minimally invasive. However, during surgery, one of her intestines was perforated. She went back into the hospital for treatment on February 3 and was just released on March 6. She has been battling Mucor, an extremely rare fungal infection. Since her body has not even gotten the chance to start recovery from chemo, she is in very bad health. In addition to all of that, she has to take the only drug available to treat this infection, amphotericin, which is extremely toxic to the body and causes severe damage to the liver and kidneys. She is currently in the fight of her life and needs our help! She worries about the mounting hospital bills and I’d love to be able to show her some support. She is a mother of five boys and a devoted wife who has worked so hard to get to where she is now, but this type of medical treatment is very costly. We are asking everyone for prayers and if possible, a helping hand so she and her family can focus on her recovery. Thank you all for your support.
