Donate to Nathan's Urgent Heart Transplant Fund

One of my dear friends is enduring a parent’s worst nightmare. Nathan is a typical, healthy 13-year-old teen boy, who has been recently sick with upper respiratory symptoms and a history of Asthma. His symptoms quickly worsened and took a sharp turn for the worse over this past weekend.

Long story short: They took him to the ER thinking it was possible pneumonia, only to be told his heart was enlarged with blood clots and he was in congestive heart failure. He’s had several episodes of ventricular tachycardia, is on multiple IV meds/drips, multiple tests, and his Echocardiogram showed his heart is working at 9% and they told her he now needs a heart transplant. He was diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy.

There’s more testing happening to help determine ranking for the transplant list.

We have cried together and are still in shock at the sheer fact that in a blink of an eye, what first started like a bad cold, now has him hospitalized, needing a heart transplant.

He was just about to start 8th grade. He has a little brother who adores him and they are so close. He has such a kind soul, is sincerely compassionate, respectful, always willing to help, smart, motivated and has a heart of gold and now his is “broken”.

We pray for his strength, answers and the perfect match quickly, so that he can continue to grow up with his little brother and family.

Any donation is greatly appreciated, as she is at his bedside and her work is on hold for right now and his dad is between work, caring for the youngest one and his bedside.
