Donate to Natalie to fight Breast Cancer
Donation protected
As some of you know, and most of you don’t, my little sister Natalie was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier last month, more specifically invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast. In true Natalie fashion, she has only told family and a few close friends. This was due to, as she has put it, “not wanting to burden anyone else with worry or her problems.” However, after discussion with her, I convinced her to let me set up this Go Fund Me campaign. I know she has touched many people with her positive spirit, great sense of humor, and genuine thoughtfulness. I wanted to set this up to give those who know and love her a way to help with some of her medical bills, lift her spirits, and let her know that they were behind her as she fights this battle.
This past year hasn’t been the easiest for Natalie‘s health. She has been out of work for over a year dealing with a scratched cornea. After three cornea surgeries and a years’ worth of doctors’ visits, she was hoping to return to work in early 2023 where she has been a flight attendant for American Airlines for almost 9 years now. That hope to return to work was dashed last month with the dreaded cancer diagnosis She is now having to, once again, stay out of work on medical leave while she concentrates on her health. As you can imagine, she is starting to feel the financial strain of her ongoing medical bills, while not being able to work, in a job that she loves and to bring in an income for such a long period of time.
After many tests and meetings with doctors, they are working to set up her initial surgery in January. She is seeing the same specialists (surgeon, oncology radiologist, and survivorship team) that also treated our mother for breast cancer over 5 years ago. We feel good in that they are caring, knowledgeable, smart, and up to date on the latest technologies! Natalie is strong, resilient, and taking this news as you would expect that she would. She cried the first few days, but knows she has her family, friends and a great team of doctors are in her corner rooting for her. We know she will go through ups and downs with this cancer battle, but for now she is doing her best to keep a smile on her face even though I can see the stress in her eyes. Natalie has always been there for me when I needed her and I am hoping to do the same. I am lucky to have her as a sister.
This is why I am asking for your help. Let’s get behind Natalie and show her we are all here for her and that she is not fighting this alone. Please know no donation is too small. Every bit will help and can take some of the stress off of her shoulders. All donations will go towards medical expenses and bills. My hope is for Natalie to be able to focus on getting strong, healthy and back to work as soon as possible. We look forward to the day we can add her name to the many cancer survivors.
Please share with friends, family, coworkers, and acquaintances that I might not know. If you feel more comfortable using Zelle or Venmo under Natalie Willard that can be arranged. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions regarding this fundraiser.
