Donate to Nancy's Lifesaving Kidney Transplant

Hi this is Hailey. This go fund me Im setting up is for my loving bonus Mom and Grammy to my 4 children.

Due to taking a prescribed medication for over twenty years Nancy found out she had stage 3 chronic kidney disease in 2004. She had been taken off that medication and has tried diligently to keep her kidneys healthy through diet and seeing nephrologist every 6 months for 21 years. Unfortunately, last April her kidney function began reaching a very dangerous level and there was talk of putting a port in for dialysis. At that time her nephrologist came up with a new plan. He sent her up to the Cleveland Clinic for testing to get on the transplant list. Her sister Chris McCurdy Brown is a perfect match and underwent all the physical testing and passed!

On Wednesday July 16th Nancy will be undergoing the kidney transplant. There will be no need for dialysis if everything goes well.

My father Gary Montagna lost his employment from Steward Trumbull Memorial Hospital when the hospital closed on March 27, 2025. Nancy is now on permanent disability.

They are in need of financial assistance due to unforseen medical bills that may not be covered by insurance. Also, after the surgery Nancy will be taking anti rejection medication for the rest of her life and have follow up appointments with the Cleveland Clinic twice a week for the next 3 months.
