Update 3/2/25

Nancy has officially been approved for stem cell transplant on 4/15/25. She will be having the procedure at city of hope cancer center in Duarte, CA. She will be inpatient for up to 4 weeks and likely have to stay in the attached hotel for up to two months after for follow up. I want to reach out for additional donations as the insurance has denied all of her travel and lodging, and we are still trying to come up with the funds for this. Thank you for all of the generous donations for Nancy's fight against scleroderma. We were able to pay for her first trip to UCLA and have received enough to cover her upcoming trip in January as well. We are so very grateful for the support during this difficult time.

Help Nancy Desilets Get the Care She Needs

Hi, my name is Nancy Desilets, and I’m reaching out to my community in a time of great need. Earlier this year, I was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune condition called scleroderma. While it primarily affects my skin, the impact on my health goes much deeper. I’ve been struggling with extreme joint pain, severe swelling, and fatigue, all of which have made it incredibly difficult to keep up with daily tasks and continue working.

This diagnosis has been a tough pill to swallow, but the hardest part is not being able to find the right care here in Maui. After months of searching for answers and seeing various doctors, I’ve been referred to a specialist in California who is experienced in treating scleroderma and its symptoms. This specialist offers the best hope for managing my condition and improving my quality of life. However, the cost of traveling, medical consultations, and treatments is overwhelming, and I’m not able to cover it on my own.

I’m asking for your support to help me raise the funds needed to make this trip and get the care I so desperately need. The funds raised will go directly toward:

• Travel expenses to California

• Medical consultations and tests

• Specialized treatment for scleroderma

• Follow-up care and medication

I know times are tough for everyone, and asking for help isn’t easy for me. But I’m hopeful that, with your kindness and generosity, I can finally get the treatment I need to start feeling better and regain some normalcy in my life.
