Hello Friends and Family,

Help me cross the finish line to becoming a doctor by contributing to my dissertation research!

As many of you know, I have been working towards my PhD in Sociology from Virginia Tech since 2017. Due to immense burnout and financial distress, I took a year off of grad school last year in order to start my job as a Research Analyst for an amazing nonprofit. While it's been an awesome year, it's also time to get back to work and finish what I started.

This next year is going to be a doozy. I am still working full time for my day job, I have taken a second job working as a Teaching Assistant for my department, and I'm conducting dissertation research on top of that. Because of my leave of absence, I just missed the deadline to apply for internal research funding from the Graduate School. With plans to collect my data at the end of March, I am on a tight timeline to secure money to fund my research.

What is most important to me is that I am able to pay my research participants for their time. I believe that a person's time is valuable. As such, I am asking for help to raise money so that I can pay my survey participants $20 for completing my study.
