In early October last year (2024) my husband had a heart attack (it was his 3rd time), he had to undergo a cardiac catheterization. The hospital bills were very expensive, we didn't have any preparations at the time (no emergency savings, insurance, etc). We currently live pay check to pay check just to survive, and honeslty still isn't enough to make it through the month, the past year have been very rough on us due to our troubles. Unbeknownst to me and my son, my husband had secretly ask for loans to some sort of a loan sharks(more than one) to pay the hospital bills, we didn't have anywhere else to go to ask for loans(our distant family isn't willing to help us/my husband with his hospital bills). My son and i only found out about it in late january, we initially thought that our family had helped us, but my husband hide the truth from us because it turns out they looked down on us for struggling, something my husband is ashamed of. Our family think we live a comfortable life, but we don't. Usually when they needed us, we would lend them some financial help, usually they looked up on my husband thinking they can rely on him, but when we're the ones that started to asking for help they looked down on us thinking it's INNAPROPRIATE for someone like us to be struggling, they refused to help my husband. My husband was shocked and emotionally scarred when he learns that none of his family is willing to help him, not because they couldn't afford to, simply because they don't want to, they LITERALLY prefer to go on a vacation(which they did) than helping my husband. The truth is whether someone is at the top or bottom in life only Allah(God) knows, no one else knows when the wheel is gonna turn, when you're the one that is going to be at the bottom.

So because of that my husband was forced to take hefty loans from loan sharks to cover his heart surgery medical bills. Day by day my husband kept getting terrorised/threatened with extortion because he's struggling to pay the debt, and always ended up getting a fines due to late payment and since he's struggling to pay his loans. So he resorts in taking more loans from other loan sharks to cover his previous debts, but still we haven't been able to repay the debts so he ended up repeating this process over and over. He is currently stuck in this process while the debt just keep on piling, almost everyday of the month now is due day for debt payment. His choice is either pay the debt with it's interest or pay a fine to postpone the due day (usually no more than 15 days of postponing). Multiple times the loan sharks had intimidate my husband, one of their method is by threatening to humiliate my husband by sharing to our family and my husband's co-worker that he's struggling to pay debt, they even sent us a mysterious package once under my husband's name, even though he didn't order anything. I never knew what's inside it or even what happen to it, i think he just throw it away.

Sometime in April 2023 i notice a discomfort on my breast, initially i didn't think much of it and just hoping it would go away on it's own while trying to keep a positive thought. As days goes by it gets more and more worst, a lump start to be more visible, by December 2023 i finally had myself checked to the hospital. After the ultrasonic mammogram, for that brief moment i was told it was a cysts (BI-RADS 4) with a visible lymph node on the axilla dextra (right armpit) and the axilla sinistra (left armpit). I was advised to take a biopsy to be able to get rid of the cysts and determine whether there is cancer or not, but i couldn't afford it at the time. So for the time being i was told keep watch on my diet and eat more carefully just incase it turns out to be cancer and to not make it worse. At the same time a friend of mine suggested me to take acupressure treatments as it's much more affordable to my budget, and it actually worked for her after long frequent treatments to get rid of huge lump on her throat in which if i remember correctly she told me it was a tumor (I don't know if that what it actually was, but that's what she told me). So i did start taking acupressure treatments as often as i could, i was suggested daily treatment if possible. It was painful but it does relief some pain eventually. As we were tight on our budget and had a busy schedule i couldn't always keep up to frequently take the treatment, because of that i started feeling pain again. In November 2024 (After my husband was discharged from the the hospital), i took another ultrasonic mammogram because i could barely handle the pain anymore, to find it has indeed gotten worst. The visible lymph node has gotten much bigger on both of my armpits. I really would like to be able to take the biopsy and be able to immedietly treat it should it turn out to be cancer, but i still couldn't afford to. I've also lost 10 kg from last year and currently underweight due to dietary restrictions to not make my condition even more worse.

Lately the loans sharks kept getting more and more aggressive with how they threaten my husband, we're under a lot of pressure and stress, i wish i could be more transparent regarding the difficult situation we're in but i'm not sure if i'm ready.

We have also already asked for loans to our friends and even my brother (my side of the family) to ease us a little from the loan sharks as our friends and my brother wouldn't charge interest and are willing to wait until we could pay without threatening us like the loan sharks. But that still far from enough to cover the whole debt we have from the loan sharks as we continue to be pressured and the debts to the loan sharks just kept on piling more and more.

Astaghfirullah. Wallahi we're struggling to pay the loans and it's insane interest rate we owe to the loan sharks and it's fine/penalty everytime we're late for payment, so we might be forced to sell the house in an extremely low price to be able to sell it as soon as possible with the hopes it could cover the debt once and for all. At the sametime considering our old age, i'm worried could we ever afford a home to retire one day. We have yet to find a buyer, we've been trying to sell for months. The broker i had asked to advertise our house to be put "For Sale" has told me multiple times that it would be extremely difficult to sell the house considering my neighbourhood is considered a "Blacklisted Area" due to it being prone of big floodings. We could be forced to sell the house more than half the price because of that, but if we do we might be able to settle my husband's debt but may not be able to buy another home for our family should my health is to be treated. The choice if we sell the house is either settle my husband's debt and provide medical treatment for me or settle my husband's debt and buy a small house that's barely enough for our family. We even tried to lease the house to the bank since we couldn't find someone that wants to buy our house, the reasons why we tried to lease our house is because i thought maybe it could be easier for us to pay it after time if we only owe debt to one singular entity instead of owing debts to multiple different loan sharks and getting extorted/threatened almost everyday of the month to pay the debts, which puts my family under a lot of stress and could barely catch a breath on top of me and my husbands current health condition. But they rejected it because they know we're struggling with debt and due to my husbands old age the bank isn't sure whether he could pay the lease eventually in his lifetime and also due to his current low income (Currently almost out of work) that's not enough to convince the bank he could pay the lease eventually.

My husband currently have a low income and it's barely enough for our family to afford a living with it. As of now we could barely afford groceries and water+electric bills, we haven't been able to afford to pay the salaries of our maids, i need them with house chores as i'm no longer capable of taking care of the house on my own especially due to my condition, i've have also been advised to not drain too much energy to the point of exhaustion or even do any task that would demand a lot of my energy. My son has been helping around the house himself but i would also wish for him to able to focus on studying, instead of panicking everytime there's loan shark on our door. With my husband's current low income we could barely afford car gas for him to go to work (usually he would try to borrow more from his friends for gas money, which in results just keep adding more debt), and currently unable to pay off the internet bills for my son to study online.

We're drowning in debt. We have ran out of option. Wallahi we're truly desperate.

I'm not sure how much time i have left to live. I don't know whether i could ever afford the proper treatment i needed. I don't want to die leaving my son knowing that we're unable to resolve our situation. Nor do i want my family to be in under anymore constant stress and pressure that would worsen me and my husband condition, he could barely catch a breath due to exhaustion and hardworking he's been to find some extra side jobs.

Keep in my mind that this campaign is run by a 3rd party with our blessings as GoFundMe isn't available in our country. I have also tried setting a crowdfund/fundraiser on many different platforms, after contacting them i only found out that most of them either don't support personal cause(if they do it only supports those who are currently in a hospital, on an ongoing treatment) or only allow nonprofits/official charity organizations to setup crowdfund/fundraiser or they simply unable to setup a fundraiser to someone in my country (From South East Asia region). We thought if we could find someone from a supported country to setup a GoFundMe on our behalf it could help us better/faster as GoFundMe has a better reach globally. Unfortunately the chosen organizer wouldn't be able to add us directly as a beneficiary to the campaign because we don't have an ID, physical adress, and a bank account in a GoFundMe supported country. So the organizer would have to personally send us the raisedfunds after it was withdrawn to the organizer's bank account then be sent to our bank account. My Son have also been trying to generate fund by selling an e-book he's been trying to sell at https://amadstore.gumroad.com/ in hopes he could settle my husband's debt. He needed to sell atleast 5000 copies (5 thousand) of his $10 e-book generating atleast $35000 USD (35 thousand USD) after transaction fee + taxes just to settle All of my husbands debt alone including it's interest and fines due to late payments, and that still wouldn't be enough to provide for my medical treatment. Unfortunately after two months since he setup an online store, he only managed to sell 2 copies to one person so far. The past year have been extremely rough on us due to our troubling predicament, the debts had really set us back on top of the limited financial state we were already at prior to my husbands cardiac catheterization surgery. The remaining funds would help us to be able to afford my surgery and immediate care should a continuing treatment is needed as if turns out to be cancer or not (could be looking likely considering it has gotten much worst as i've been forced to postpone treatment since December 2023), the expenses required would be enormous and there's no way of knowing of a fix final price required as the medical expenses treatment could only be determine after medication had taken place and decided which further treatment is suited for me as how much my health would develop after each treatment (to my knowledge the price for my treatment is flexible and uncertain as each treatments progresses) , any extra/remaining funds would hopefully help us to be able to afford post recovery necessities including for providing us with maid to help me with house chores as i could no longer capable of doing and be able to get my health back on track with better diet as i'm currently underweight after losing 10 kg from last year, which hopefully then my son would be able to focus back on studying, if there's any remaining funds left hopefully it would help us get back on our feet for hopefully a year or more and at the same time we would hope to try to use any extra funds to be able to help us make a better living with a better income for us to be able to sustainably provide for me and my husband in our late years as my husband is reaching the age of retirement and don't know how much longer he can work to provide for us considering his health condition, hopefully an extra fund could help us secure our finance and be able to keep medically provide for our family in the future + any unexpected expenses in the future before my husbands retirement and give us chance to live a better life for our family.
