Hey family,

My name is Andre Gomez and I am a friend of Monica Gadson. Monica was diagnosed with Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder on December 25, 2023. This is a rare autoimmune disease that attacks the central nervous system. As a result, she spent most of 2024 in the hospital being treated, recovering, and now relearning a lot of physical and motor skills.

She is currently at a physical state of learning to walk again and regain full motor control in her hands. She will need a more aggressive form of therapy to achieve these goals.

What Monica has expressed to me is that she is currently in need of finances to cover many financial burdens that she is facing.

She recently moved to Florida to live with a family member and that family member has since asked her to leave their home and she has now been living in a shelter for over a month.

She has a pending disability case that has not been approved and not been able to find suitable work that will fit her current abilities and limitations. In order to continue seeing therapists and specialists, cover monthly/past due bills, and day to day living costs, she needs our help.

Whatever you can do to donate and help my friend with her recovery will be appreciated! All donations will go directly to the Monica’s bills and medical expenses.
