My mom was diagnosed with Merkel Cell Carcinoma last August and has been receiving ongoing treatment at the Fred Hutch Clinic in Seattle. This summer, she found out she also has breast cancer and will be getting surgery to remove the affected lymph nodes on August 15th. After this surgery, she will need to undergo the LYMPHA procedure that will help prevent lymphedema in the arm. Insurance does not see this procedure as necessary, so she has to pay completely out of pocket. I am hoping friends, family, and acquaintances can help out and take that burden off of her because the last thing she should worry about is financials.
