Creating this GoFundMe is something our family never imagined we would have to do. Asking for help does not come easily for us—especially for Mike, who has always been the first to offer help rather than receive it.

As many of you know, Mike was in a serious accident this past weekend that left him intubated and life-flighted to Billings Clinic. He remains in the hospital as I write this. He has lost hearing in his left ear due to a fracture scull which they are not sure he will regain. While he has made significant progress, he still has a long road to recovery. The best-case plan is for him to enter an Acute Rehab facility for at least five days of intensive therapy, followed by weeks of outpatient rehabilitation.

Like many, Mike does not have health insurance, and the medical expenses—along with the costs of life-flight transport, ICU hospital care, and rehabilitation—are going to add up quickly.
