Hello Friends and Beloved Ones!
I'm sad to inform you that I am currently recovering from a complicated ankle surgery after a pretty severe ankle break. While rollerskating outdoors a month ago, my right ankle twisted completely to the right, and I landed on top of it. My body went into shock, and I knew immediately deep inside something was very wrong. When I was finally able to touch around my ankle and lower leg, I felt my fibula disappear into my leg. Some nice strangers on their bicycles saw me fall. They went and got their car and drove me to the ER. After the ER visit, unfortunately I then had to wait two weeks before surgery. Luckily though, my surgeon orchestrated the best surgery plan and made sure I would receive the proper hardware. I now have a plate, screws and also some thing that keeps my fibula and tibia together. Then on the inside of my ankle they had to screw all my tendons back. All in all, I got a lot of new gear down there. I also now have a lot of personal body pain I'm managing, as the healing process for this injury is a long and painful one.
My ability to pursue my love in helping\healing others has come to an abrupt stop. My work has been Medical Somatic massage with veterans, elders, and other folks in the community that I've been seeing for awhile. I have another six weeks before I’m gonna be able to put any pressure on my foot. And with it being my driving foot, I am unable to do my massage practice. As you can imagine, I was financially unprepared for this accident. I have bills, prescriptions, rent, food, etc. costs stacking up and I'm struggling to keep up.
Staying positive and peaceful through this intense healing process is essential. My one job right now is to get better and unfortunately it comes with no pay. I know this situation could be a gift in disguise.. For example, having all this time not being able to move, has opened up the opportunity to meet my artist self potential in a big way and when I'm not resting, I intend on making the best use of this time creatively.
If you are unable to help with a donation please consider sending a prayer or nice thought my way or feel free to reach out to me. I appreciate anything you are able to give as I know many of us are going through our own struggles. Im asking for a little financial help to get me through this hump until I can literally get back on my own two feet and get back to dancing together with you through this beautiful life. Thank you in advance and many blessings to you for reading this.
Love,
Mezzo
