For those who don’t know, Friday night (7/11/25) we had to rush our cat, Memow, to the emergency vet. Memow was diagnosed with feline diabetes in March of this year. We were under the impression he may have been in remission as of June and were instructed to take him off insulin until our vet reached back out in 4-6 weeks. Last week began week 8 of no insulin and no contact from his veterinarian as I’ve been told she’s on vacation. He’s been declining in health slowly since last week and we made the decision to bring him to urgent care Thursday.
After no improvement by Friday afternoon, I brought him to the ER. He is now currently being treated for Diabetic Ketoacidosis and Cholangiohepatitis, which are deadly diagnoses if not treated swiftly and carefully. Our little buddy has been at Green Acres ICU since Friday night and remains receiving treatment as of today, Sunday 7/13. His vet bills are piling up and so far amount to $8,452.
The last thing I want to do is ask for financial assistance, but it’s safe to say we are feeling the financial impacts of these vet bills. If anyone reads this and feels inclined to donate towards his medical bills, we would forever be grateful. Thank you for reading and helping us save our special little guy.
