My name is Melissa. This is the hardest thing I've ever done as I have never been good at asking for help. I am a divorced woman in my 50s and I live in Florida with my 3 beautiful Australian Shepherds that I have had since they were babies and I was still married. After my divorce, I moved to a more rural area and things were going well. Approximately two and a half years ago, I went through a trauma and was diagnosed with PTSD. I was in weekly therapy and on FMLA due to the fact that I would go through episodes of functional impairment and not be able to work. Due to less income, I had to sell my Jeep and my credit dropped. I am now functional, but in the early part of 2024, I went through a very difficult time and went over the allotted amount of time of FMLA.

My therapist said that was common before a breakthrough. After that period I was no longer missing work like I had been. Then I got the flu and was over the termination limit at my job. I had worked there over 35 years and was terminated at the end of January 2025. I have been applying for many jobs, but working in a casino my whole life didn't leave me with a variety of skills. I am gathering new knowledge to move forward. Unfortunately I have now exhausted the little retirement funds I had and my dogs and I are out of time. Although this has been difficult I am looking forward to a new chapter of my life and new employment opportunities Thank you for taking the time to read this.
