Hey everyone,
If you’re reading this, you probably know the drill: the last year has been rough. Despite pouring everything I have into the job hunt here in Portales, the reality is that the work I need (the kind that pays for living expenses) simply isn't available.
I’ve realized that I must make a huge change, and that’s why I’m launching this fund: I’m moving to Portland to finally secure a stable job and turn things around.
I’ve researched the job market in [City Name], and the opportunities in my field of history and education are exactly what I need to get back on my feet, get a paycheck, and start supporting my family the way they deserve.
This move is my long-term solution to unemployment, but getting there costs a lot.
The other piece of this story is my amazing mom. She’s been a tremendous help this past year, and I want make sure she's ok. While I save up and plan this move, she is struggling to keep up with essential bills.
We need a buffer. Before I can fully focus on packing and interviews, I need to know she’s okay. A portion of this fund will go directly to covering her utilities, basic groceries, and bills, giving her stability and peace of mind while I make the jump.
My total goal is $1,600, and every single dollar has a purpose. $800 is going to moving expenses (first month's rent, rental car, Fuel, groceries, small buffer for emergencies). $800 will be used to cover living expenses in Portales (bills, car payment, fuel, groceries)
Thank you so much for reading and considering helping us. I promise to keep you updated on the job hunt, the move, and the moment I can say, "We made it!"
With so much gratitude,
Mel G.
