Let me start by saying God is good. All the time. Especially in the valleys. All trials are used to glorify Him. Our testimonies are not ours but His. Faith is trusting God in the ultimate battles of life, and when your heart breaks, you still have a peace that only comes from Him. Just under 3 weeks ago, my testimony looked a lot different. God is never done. But, as I have looked back, I remember seeing God in the details preparing me for what HE knew was to come. God had already gone before me. He reunited me with friends that He knew I would need, and He drew me closer to my loved ones. And so I am walking on water, but I will not drown or take my eyes off of Him. Faith. So much faith.

On Nov 6th, I found a lump on my breast. My spirit knew. I made an appointment the next morning. A mammogram and ultrasound were scheduled for Nov 12th. Thankful for C. Oakes and loving me and my family as she has, and getting me in so quickly. There was a definite lump and concern, so a biopsy followed on Nov 14th. On Nov 17th, my world came crashing and my heart shattered. Positive for breast cancer. Oh, how Satan knows our fears. It’s a heartbreak like no other. Not knowing the future and the plan God has for you. Ultimate faith that God has you. Praying it didn’t spread and I would live to see my babies grow up. Repenting for being ungrateful for AIR in my lungs. Two days of heartbreak beyond fathom. Nov 18th, CT scan - results came back it didn’t spread! Localized. Praise God and finally a peace in this storm. Again, thankful for my primary doctor caring so much and getting me in. Nov 19th, I met with my surgeon. She was a familiar face and God was in the details. I have learned it’s important to have those “okay God” moments - and pay attention. She cared deeply. We began discussing our plan. Nov 20th - I walked into the Edwards Cancer Center for the first time. Trust me - you never think you will. It was emotional. It marked the beginning of my battle against the flesh, and triumph of my testimony and spirit! Peace pursued and I am faithful He has chosen the doctors for this battle. We met my oncologist and knew he cared. Nov 21st, we learned the subtype as the results finally came back. Now a definite plan. Nov 25th, met with my surgeon and she and I discussed the plan. MRI will be soon to get a closer look before proceeding with surgery. However, I begin chemo the week after Thanksgiving. Monday, I will have surgery to insert the port. While I am terrified - I have Faith. I can’t imagine doing this without God. 18 weeks of chemo. Six treatments. This Thanksgiving looks so different. I am thankful for my family. I am thankful for the friends God knew I would need. I am thankful for the courageous testimonies of women in my life that have fought this very battle, or are currently fighting it. I ask that you pray for my husband and children. Pray for the medical team. Pray for my body’s strength, and that the Holy Spirit walks with me every step. I don’t ask for a miracle…but I pray that God does use me so others KNOW HIM, and cannot deny HE is God & that others may come to salvation. Please pray for my shop - it’s struggling. It’s my dream and I don’t want to lose it because of this battle! 20 days ago, I never would have thought I’d be here making this post. Our lives can change in the blink of an eye. This Thanksgiving, be thankful for the little things, and look for God in the details. Come by the shop tomorrow night and see us. I can’t wait to see those lights turn on. Marking 4 years at my shop and also the beginning of the next chapter of HIS testimony.

Please encourage my girls when you see them! This battle will take a village. We love you all.
