Hey everyone,
My name is Matt (most people seeing this probably already know me), and I am reaching out to share my journey with seizures in the hopes of raising awareness and finding support for my medical needs.
For the past seven years, I have been living with epilepsy, a condition that affects not only my health but also my daily life. Each seizure is unpredictable and can be life-altering, leaving me feeling exhausted, anxious, and isolated. Despite the challenges, I strive to maintain a positive outlook and continue pursuing to the best of my ability my passions and life in general, but the burden of my condition can sometimes feel overwhelming.
After years of struggling with dental issues related to them (chipping, cracking, breaking, etc.), it got to the point where I finally decided to meet with a specialist regarding it, hoping it would improve my quality of life and restore my smile. Unfortunately, I was greatly misled and taken advantage of. The doctor recommended that it was medically necessary for all of my teeth to be removed. The surgery turned into a nightmare. Due to complications during the procedure, I’ve faced a collapsed nasal cavity, facial paralysis, severe pain, additional medical treatments, and unexpected costs that have left me in a difficult financial situation and was forced to seek legal counsel.
The botched surgery has not only caused physical discomfort but has also taken an emotional toll on me. It completely shattered my confidence. I find myself feeling anxious and self-conscious about my smile, and the ongoing medical appointments have greatly added to my stress.
Stress is the main culprit that triggers my seizures, and they have gotten significantly worse. On several occasions over the past few months, I've awoken seriously injured in the ER without any recollection of how I got there. It feels like my medical stuff has almost consumed me.
I’ve tried various treatments and medications, but finding the right balance has been a difficult and costly process. The medical expenses have begun to pile up, and I often worry about how to cover these costs while also managing my condition. That’s why I’ve started this GoFundMe campaign.
The funds raised will go toward:
1. Medical Expenses: Covering ongoing treatments, doctor visits, and medications.
2. Therapies: Exploring alternative therapies and lifestyle changes that could improve my quality of life.
3. Supportive Equipment: Investing in safety devices to help protect me during seizures.
4. Court Costs: So that we can bring that "expert" to justice.
Every contribution, no matter how small, brings me closer to finding the care I need and regaining control over my life. Your support means the world to me, and I am incredibly grateful for any help you can offer. Together, we can make a difference in my journey toward healing.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. If you can't contribute financially, sharing this campaign with your friends/family would be incredible.
With gratitude,
Matt
