Dear Family and Friends,
I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my dear friends Matt and Sophie, who need our collective help this holiday season.
Earlier this year Matt was diagnosed with, Parkinson’s disease, a neurological condition, which has impacted his daily life in every way possible. Matt’s ability to work, his mobility, and his overall health has been severely impacted due to this condition and he is in constant pain.
After many doctor visits over the past few months, brain surgery is the recommended treatment course in order to help Matt regain a more normal day-to-day life. The brain surgery is called Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and he is schedule to have this surgery on January 13th. He will also be having a pump of 24/7 intravenous carbidopa levodopa as part of this surgery, in order to ensure that what is accomplished through the brain surgery is continuously effective throughout his recovery.
Even with insurance, this surgery will cost Matt and his family over $150,000 which is an unimaginable burden for them, but fully worth it for Matt to be able receive this surgery and return to normal life, return to work, and not be in constant pain.
Please consider donating and sharing this fundraiser so we can help Matt and Sophie navigate this difficult time and ensure that Matt receiving this brain surgery doesn’t cause an additional burden on their family. Thank you in advance!
