7/25/25 Marv & Curtis's story update:

Marv is currently at home on hospice, with dedicated caregivers helping her manage chronic pain due to her now-advanced Stage IV cancer.

With the time and financial burdens of Marv's illness, efforts to repair their house for her comfort on hospice had been sidelined.

We've increased the donation goal amount to help with house repairs to make Marv's hospice more comfortable in the upcoming hottest months in the year in Southern California (a/c repair), and in preparation for the rainy season this winter. In addition, half of the toilets and showers in the house are not functional, and in almost every room there is a water leak from either the roof or plumbing, creating a less than healthy living environment. These repairs and fixes are not only for Marv's comfort on hospice, but also for Curtis going forward.

Curtis' salary covers the monthly mortgage, but the other expenses (utilities, food, gas, supplemental medical expenses, etc.) are currently helped by this Go Fund Me. The GFM has become a lifeline. Additional donations would be used to ease the time Marv and Curtis have together, enabling him to take time off of work to be with Marv without financial impact.

Our good friend, Marv Perez Robles has been diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer, with cancer also found in some lymph nodes. She is currently undergoing an aggressive treatment of regular chemotherapy infusions along with daily chemo oral medications. Due to chemo side effects, she is unable to work full time for the foreseeable future.

Without fundraising help, Marv and her husband Curtis will run out of savings in December of this year. Not the holiday season they expected. The goal amount of $20,000 will help them get through June of 2025, when Marv hopes to be back at work full time after completion of chemo treatments and cancer surgery/recovery.

We’ve known Marv (and hubby Curtis) for over seven years, connecting through the 501st Legion Star Wars Costuming organization. They have given so much of themselves to extended family and friends, and regularly participate in charity troops for Alzheimer’s research, Down Syndrome, at libraries & schools, and so many others.

Donations will be used for medical expenses and household bills. Any donation amount would be welcomed; if you are unable to donate, they would appreciate your positive energy, prayers, memes and emails, cards, and love.
