Hello, my name is Mark Majher. I belong to a motorcycle club called the Ashland, KY Star Riders. Every year, in October, I and 8 other members do an endurance ride to raise money for the homeless veterans living on our streets and a cancer treatment center in our area. The endurance ride consists of 6 to 9 motorcycles riding 1,000 miles in 24 hours. The only stops are to get fuel, snacks, drinks, and restroom breaks; it's what we call a splash and go. We do stop twice for lunch and dinner, but we must eat fast. Over the last 7 years we have been doing this, we have raised over $30,000 for the charities.
This year, we are going to try to raise more than $30,000 on a single ride. The area we live in is rural and has a homeless veteran population growing daily. The cancer rate in this area has reached levels never seen before. Both my mother and father passed away due to cancer.
I can assure you that every penny that is donated goes directly to these charities. None of the money is used for anything else. The riders pay their own way for the ride, including fuel and food. So, 100% of donations will help someone with cancer or a homeless veteran GUARANTEED! Please help us with whatever you can; there are so many people counting on us, and with your help, we may even save a life or at least give them comfort for a while.
