Donate to Marissa's Medical Recovery

Don protégé
Her name is Marissa. She came to the United States by way of the Philippines on a visitation Visa and we met three weeks before she had to go back home. On a return visit in May I got to spend more time with her and realized I never wanted her to be away from me again, so in July I asked her to marry me. We planned ro get married in September of this year, 2024, but then my father suddenly passed away so unselfishly she agreed to postpone until this November. We planned to get married on Veteran's Day to commemorate two significant decisions of my life into one day. Then, my sister passed away shortly after my father in September of this same year and she stayed loyal with me through it all.

Last week, we discovered after several weeks of her feeling ill that she has a massive ovarian cyst on her right ovary. We learned today that she will need surgery. Since she is on a visitation Visa and we hadn't had the chance to get married yet, she has no insurance. She has no means to work. She only has me to rely on and I am asking you to help her and to help me help her.

Before you donate, let me tell you a little more about Marissa. Prior to coming to the United States she worked as a successful architect in Dubai. She left her career to take care of her ailing mother up until her mother's death in 2022. That is the type of woman she is. Marissa is faithful in her belief and church at Sacred Heart here in Del Rio Texas. Even though she has been here a short time, she has made a great number of friends because that is who she is. She has volunteered at every request, never asking for anything in return. She is joyful and never gives me a complaint even in her extreme pain now. Her only worry is for others and always does her best to make others feel special. Even now, in the midst of this long and uncertain journey ahead she is asking me to remain optimistic and hopeful. She is the most deserving person I know to receive kindness. I hope you will donate and let her know how bright she shines and how valuable she is to me and everyone she meets. Thank you

Update 11/1/24
First of all I want to thank everyone who has donated thus far. Please keep sharing! Marissa had successful surgery to remove a 20lb mass from her abdomen that was connected to her tissue. She also had some lumphnodes removed and today the surgeon told us that it was in fact cancer. Pathology will need to test more and make a final determination of stage and plan of action. So, her fight on cancer now begins and we need as much support as possible. Marissa is handling it with such grace and with a positive outlook as she always has. In this darkest hour she continues to shine the brightest.
