My name is Brian Housley. I am raising funds to support my daughter, Mariel, as she recovers from a traumatic brain injury (TBI) she sustained in March after a fall. Right after the injury Mariel experienced a grand mal seizure, and has been averaging 2-3 debilitating seizures every week for the last 6 months. The diagnosis is epilepsy induced by TBI, which has affected her sleep, mood, energy, mental clarity and her overall ability to function day to day,

The good news is that she recently began anti-seizure medication and has not had a seizure in the last 10 days. She is feeling more stable, is thinking more clearly and is actively looking for work. However the months before treatment were extremely difficult. Prior to the medication, she lost her job and without steady income she's fallen behind on rent, food, utilities, transportation, and certain medical bills not covered by insurance. She is now at risk of eviction and I'm trying to help her bridge the gap until she's fully back on her feet.
