Assalamu Alaikum — an update on Sister Mariam and her family. Sister Mariam, who embraced Islam in 1990, is currently undergoing treatment for blood cancer. Brother Muhammad, a longtime musalli at our masjid, retired after health issues and multiple surgeries and has lost most of his savings. Despite state insurance, the family must pay $2,400 per month out of pocket for two essential injections.

Current status: Estimated treatment cost $50,000; $15,000 raised so far; $35,000 still needed. The family is eligible for zakat. Donations will be used for medical treatment and immediate household needs so they can keep their home and care for their two children and three grandchildren.
