Donate to Maria Hansen's Path to Recovery

I'm organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my best friend, Maria Hansen.

On October 5, 2024, Maria suddenly lost feeling in her left arm while at work. As the day progressed, she wasn't able to push buttons on the computer and progressively weakened.

She was sent to the ER, where she had multiple strokes up until October 8, 2024. Her MRI showed that she had multiple foci of cortical and subcortical diffusion restriction with correlating T2/FLAIR hyperintensity, all of which are noted in the right cerebral hemisphere suggestive of acute to subacute infarct. Meaning she had at least 4-5 strokes in the course of 3 days.

When she was finally able to answer me, she was progressing. However, upon her October 9th testing, her blood levels showed she was very close to another stroke, and they currently have performed a DSA on her.

Factors that may have caused this may be due to Maria's autoimmune illness called Lupus, but in order not to jump to any conclusions, she will have to undergo further testing and procedures, as well as physical therapy.

Maria is in no shape or condition to work or even handle the slightest bit of stress at the moment. She's going to have to focus her sole energy on recovering, moving into a new home that doesn't contain mold toxicity, as well as maintaining her regular and medical bills.
