Baby Marcy's Intensive Care Fund

Donation protected
My sister and her husband, Adison and Kelton Smith, welcomed their baby girl to the world on August 23rd and named her Marcy. For the past three weeks, baby Marcy has been fighting for her life in a newborn intensive care unit. Due to severe complications at birth, she had to be life-flighted to another hospital that was better equipped for the care she needed. Marcy’s lungs were severely damaged, and her brain did not receive the oxygen it needed at birth. Because of this, the future of the Smith family is going to look different than they ever anticipated. These past few weeks have been full of heartbreak, and grief for them as there’s not anything in this world that could've prepared them to have their baby taken from them at birth and to not know if they would ever get to bring her home. Miraculously, Marcy lived and continues fighting strong in the NICU. She has survived several holes in her lungs called pneumothoraces and the many procedures to address them, along with HIE therapy to help the swelling of her brain and ventilation support to help with her pulmonary hypertension. These weeks have also been full of immeasurable amounts of miracles, prayers, and fasting. Marcy continues to fight and make small steps forward. We feel incredibly blessed by the outpouring of love and support, and that my niece is still with us. Her intensive care team constantly expresses their surprise at her resilience, referring to her as a miracle baby. While the Smith family faces an uncertain future, they are hopeful that Marcy will be able to return home in the coming weeks. At this moment, the most significant support for the Smith family and their baby would be ongoing prayers and, if you wish, contributing to Marcy’s intensive care fund to alleviate some of the financial strain on the Smith family that comes with the mounting medical expenses.

We will share updates on the baby’s condition and other relevant information through this page.
