Marcus's Journey Back to Health

Hello, my name is Marcus Taylor.

I am reaching out to humbly ask for your support in raising funds for my prosthetic leg. While my insurance has covered a significant portion of the cost, I am still responsible for the remaining 20%. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly towards helping me regain mobility and independence.

On March 3, 2024, my life was forever changed when I was struck by a truck while riding my motorcycle on Route 42. After enduring 10 surgeries to repair extensive injuries to my face, hand, and leg, doctors ultimately made the decision that my leg could not be saved and my leg was amputated. Following my release from rehabilitation on May 8, I have been focusing on my healing and adapting to this new chapter in my life.

I’ve dedicated my career to public service and I’m proud to have served my community as a police officer, working my way up to the rank of sergeant. Alongside my full-time career, I earned a master’s degree in criminal justice. Above all, I am a father to three incredible children. Two sons who followed in my footsteps as police officers and a daughter who aspires to become a doctor.

In addition to my dedication to my family and career, I have always loved giving back to my community. Coaching youth football, basketball, and baseball has been a passion of mine, and I hope to continue these activities once I am able to move forward with my prosthetic leg.
