Help Marc Rebuild His Life After a Devastating Accident

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

It’s been nearly a year since Marc’s devastating fall on May 10, 2024 - a day that forever changed the course of his life and the lives of those who love him. Though the early days were focused solely on survival, today his fight continue - not just to live, but to reclaim as much independence as possible

We are reaching out to you in a moment of deep need and vulnerability to ask for your help in supporting Marc, a beloved husband, father, friend, and neighbor, who suffered a life-changing accident and is now facing the fight of his life.

On 5/10/24, while enjoying time at his lake house in Williamstown, Marc suffered a tragic fall from the roof, resulting in a traumatic brain injury (TBI) and paralysis. He suffered 36 contusions, fractures and other injuries, 12 of which were broken ribs and 5-6 fractures to his skull. Part of Marc’s skull was removed to alleviate pressure and swelling on his brain.

His family never left his side as he fought for his life.

Right now, the paralysis has taken away his independence and mobility. But if you know Marc, you know that giving up is not in his nature but the road to recovery will be long and difficult.

Marc’s wife, Denise, a devoted schoolteacher in the Ft. Thomas school system for over 25 years, is now his full-time caregiver, a role she never imagined she would have to fill. Together, with their three adult children, they’ve had to make major renovations to their home to accommodate Marc’s wheelchair, lift machine, and hospital bed.

On top of these overwhelming changes, they don’t have a vehicle that can transport Marc to his therapy appointments, forcing them to rely on an expensive medical transportation service.

While we are grateful for the medical team at UC, Drake, and Encompass for giving Marc such good care, the cost of treatments, rehabilitation, and necessary home modifications is overwhelming.

Insurance covers only a fraction, and as the medical bills pile up, we are humbly asking for your support. Every dollar raised will go directly towards Marc’s care, therapy, and ensuring they have the equipment and resources needed to adapt to their new reality.

Marc and Denise have lived in Ft Wright, Ky. for over 30 years and are members of St Agnes Parish. Marc is a Highlands high
school graduate and received his BS from the University of Kentucky. He continued his education at Xavier University where he obtained his MBA .

Marc has dedicated his life to saving others, serving 10 years as a Ft Wright firefighter and squad driver. He loves helping others and is known as the “honey do” dude on his street.

To say Marc and his family are University of Kentucky Wildcat fans is an understatement. All three children also graduated from UK (after attending Covington Catholic HS and Notre Dame Academy). They live and breathe UK sports, especially basketball and football. You’ll find them proudly wearing blue and white year-round and own plenty of Wildcat’s gear and home decorations.

Marc has always been a pillar of strength for others—now, it’s our turn to lift him up. No amount is too small to donate and will help reach our goal. If you cannot donate, sharing this campaign and keeping Marc in your thoughts and prayers would mean the world to us.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love, generosity, and kindness during this incredibly difficult time.

With gratitude

Melissa and Dana
