Boozhoo Everyone,
On the night of April 30, 2025, identical twins Merelle and Maleice White were victims of gun violence in South Minneapolis, in what has been reported as gang violence. The twins were at the wrong place at the wrong time and have suffered immensely. Merelle died at the scene along with two other male individuals. Maleice White and another male were rushed to the hospital with life threatening injuries. In the days following the other victim was taken off life support.
Maleice was shot in the right side of her face with the bullet entering her cheek with no exit. The bullet richoted off her pallet and is lodged in her left cheek. Shattering the upper portion of her mouth. Maliece has gone through one reconstructive surgery for the positive prognosis for recovery. The doctors are in good spirits about her physical healing and has shared the treatment plans with family.
Merelle’s funeral is to be determined at this time. There was a total of four victims who lost their lives and another five including Maleice that were injured. Communities are shocked and are mourning at this level of crime. Above all, we are asking people to come forward with any information that you may have even if you think it’s something minuscule it matters. We are asking you to call crime stoppers at [phone redacted].
Donations are being accepted on Maleice’s behalf.
Growing up in the foster care system the twins were known for their athletic, bright and popular among their peers. They played softball and basketball together. They graduated high school together. Merelle earned and was very proud of her lash technician certification. Merelle was self-employed doing many women’s lashes. She also worked at different locations in Bemidji such as A&W, NY NAILS and other places. And was a motherly figure to Maleice as she was the baby of them. They had just bought a car a couple weeks ago signed a lease downtown Minneapolis.
Maleice is a very humorous loving caring person anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting. They were so innocent and pure, so sweet. They were at the wrong place at the wrong time. Maleice has gone through and overcame so much in her young life already. She lost her mother and we all know how much that has hurt and affected her life. And now to lose her person her twin her best friend is something that we can’t even imagine how that would be. Maleice has a huge family but Merelle was her everything, they leaned on each other for support, guidance they were together through everything.
Maleice was in the foster care system in which she was with an amazing family.
She always knew they can go back to them in time of need or just to be with family.
we are asking that you keep her in your prayers.
Thank You for your continued support
You are appreciated
All proceeds will go directly to Maliece as she is able to leave the hospital and face this head on with the help of her family and all the support from everyone.
