Hi, my name is Molly Keane. I’m 19 years old. Today, April 8th, I walked into my house after work and found my dog Mabel having a seizure next to her bed. It turns out Mabel got into a bag of “sugar free” gum containing an artificial sweetener called Xylitol. She is now at West Park Animal Hospital staying 24-48 hours with constant blood sugar testing and a million other tests to make sure she stays stable. There is a very high risk of liver failure because of her blood sugar being so low. She was also just at the emergency vet two months ago with a nasty foot injury that cost me $900, she had to have surgery and sleepover. She is the sweetest dog in the world. She loves every person and dog she meets and she’s always wagging her tail and smiling. As any person with a pet knows, vets cost a ton of money, but I love my dog more than anything and anything can help. I work two jobs and I’m saving up as much as I possibly can because I am moving to Philadelphia, PA in August. The vet gave me the estimate of $2700-$3700. The deposit was $2700 out of pocket to even do anything, and I will know the final cost when she is released. Anything you can donate would help. Please share on Facebook/social Medias. It would mean so much if you helped save my girl.
