As most of you already know, I have Stage 2 breast cancer. I found out in April and started chemotherapy in May. I have been very fortunate to have only minor side effects and have been able to keep working. I'm a bus driver during the week and spend my Saturdays collecting household hazmat for recycling/proper disposal.
I have 2 more rounds of chemo to do, and then I will have a double mastectomy with reconstruction on election day, followed by 30 days of radiation. My doctor is pulling me out of work for 8 weeks. Unfortunately, I cannot get disability because I'm not terminal and I won't be out of work for at least 5 months.
So many have told me not to hesitate to ask if I need help. This is a very big pill for me to swallow, but I have faith that my family and I will get through this and many will help us. We thank all of you in advance, even if it's just words of encouragement (it does go a long way). Much love to all of you!
Lynn
