Luna Foundation Aruba is a non-profit foundation that helps the voiceless, the abused, and the sick. They are in need of a separate mini shelter for the traumatized dogs. The main sanctuary, the Safe Haven, now has about 200 dogs on average. For the traumatized dogs, this is not helpful because they need quiet and calm to be able to decompress, rehab, and be trained to be good family members in the future.

A location has been found where this can be built. Five dogs have been selected as the first to try this mini shelter in their journey to recovery: Dinah and Flame, plus Alba, Sahara, and Cosmo. Two different packs, but the same issues—they do not trust humans, probably with very good reasons.

Dinah and Flame come from a Tanki Leendert Area pack of 20 dogs that originated from three female dogs being dumped on the street. Fifteen dogs have found new homes, but Dinah and Flame are struggling to socialize in the environment they are in at the moment.

Alba, Sahara, and Cosmo come from a household where the owners did not spay their dogs. They didn't want the pups, neglected them, and then subsequently dumped them in the desert.

They are healthy, they are up to date with their shots and rabies, and they are spayed. Beautiful dogs. But they need time to rehab, and the mini shelter, together with volunteer trainers specialized in traumatized dogs, is their only hope.
