Recently, Daniel and Aquilla Bec noticed their six-year-old son, Luka, struggling with his balance and coordination. Concerned, they took him for tests, and the MRI brought every parent’s worst fear, a tumor on the base of his brain.

Luka was immediately admitted to Prisma Children’s Hospital in Columbia, where his condition began to worsen. On October 30, 2025, he underwent surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible. Unfortunately, there were complications, and Luka is now sedated as his doctors closely monitor his recovery. Much remains unknown until he wakes up and test results come back.

Through it all, Daniel and Aquilla have been at his side, drawing strength from their love for Luka and from the support of family and friends. They have never asked for anything, but those who know them know how much they are carrying right now — spiritually, emotionally, physically, and financially.
